Ingredients

Scale

Crust

  • 9 chocolate graham crackers, crushed
  • 4.5 tbsp. unsalted butter, melted

Chocolate filling

  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 7 oz. semi sweet or dark chocolate, chopped
  • 1 egg and 1 egg yolk
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Pre heat oven to 350 F.
  2. Make the crust first: Combine crushed chocolate graham crackers and melted butter. Press into an 8 inch tart pan. Bake the crust for 5 minutes. Then set aside.
  3. Reduce oven temperature to 325 F.
  4. Next make the filling: In a sauce pan bring heavy whipping cream and milk to a light boil. Take off heat.
  5. Add the chocolate and gently stir until smooth. Add the whisked egg and egg yolk. Stir until combined. Pour filling into prepared crust.
  6. Bake the tart 15 minutes or until almost set. The sides should be set but the center should still be a little bit jiggly. The surface of the tart should be glossy. If lots of bubbles start to form, take the tart out! This means the tart is over baking. The filling will set as it cools.
  7. Cool the tart then refrigerate the tart for at least 2 hours or until set.
  8. Sprinkle with sea salt if desired before serving.
