- Heavy whipping cream and milk
- Eggs – you will be using one egg and one egg yolk.
Making the baked chocolate tart
- Prepare the crust. Combine crushed chocolate graham crackers and melted butter. Press into an 8 inch tart pan. Bake then set aside.
- Make the filling: In a sauce pan bring heavy whipping cream and milk to a light boil. Take off heat. Add the chocolate and gently stir until smooth. Add the whisked egg and egg yolk. Pour filling into crust.

What kind of chocolate do I use?
I recommend using any kind of chocolate that is between 60%-70%. A good quality chocolate bar is best, but chocolate chips will work as well. A good dark chocolate bar gives you a decadent, rich and smooth chocolate filling.
What kind of milk do I use?
You can use any kind of milk for this recipe. I have used 1% milk and whole milk. Both times the chocolate tart turned out so tasty!
A tip on baking the chocolate tart
The tart will be set on the sides but still a little bit jiggly in the center. The surface of the tart should be glossy. You might see a few bubbles forming, but if you see lots of bubbles or cracks forming take the tart out right away. This means that the tart is over baked!
Storing and serving the tart
Store the tart in the refrigerator. I would recommend taking the chocolate tart out 15 minutes prior to serving. This allows the chocolate to soften just a little bit and become creamy and smooth.
ENJOY!
