Deliciously creamy panna cotta that melts in your mouth with every bite! Topped with the best strawberry sauce. This dessert is simple to prepare, and looks amazing!

Ingredients

Scale

Panna Cotta

  • 1 1/2 cups whole milk
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1 envelope gelatin powder
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Strawberry Sauce

  • 1 lb strawberries
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar*
  • dash lemon juice

Instructions

Panna Cotta

  1. Pour milk into medium sauce pan. Sprinkle gelatin over milk. And let it sit for about 5 minutes or until gelatin softens.
  2. Place on LOW heat and stir until gelatin dissolves. (this should take only a few minutes) DO NOT BOIL.
  3. Add granulated sugar, heavy whipping cream, and vanilla extract. Continue cooking on LOW heat until sugar dissolves. (this takes around 5 minutes) DO NOT BOIL THE MIXTURE. If the mixture gets too hot, take off the heat. The mixture should be warm enough to dissolve the sugar, but not so hot that you can’t touch it with your finger.
  4. Divide evenly among mousse cups or ramekins. Refrigerate at least 4 hours or until panna cotta has set.
  5. Meanwhile make the strawberry sauce. Place strawberries, sugar and lemon juice into saucepan. Cook for about 15 minutes on medium heat, or until the strawberries can be mashed. Cool and refrigerate until ready to be used.
  6. Once the panna cotta is set, spoon strawberry sauce over panna cotta.

Notes

* You can add more sugar if you want the strawberry sauce to be sweeter. I add anywhere between 1-3 tablespoon of sugar depending on how sweet the strawberries are.
