This will be the most delicious white chocolate chip cookies you’ll have! The cookies are deliciously soft on the inside and perfectly crisp on the outside. Exactly what you want in a white chocolate chip cookie!
If you’re a white chocolate fan, you’re in for the perfect treat! This delicious cookie recipe makes the mots delicious white chocolate chip cookies. We all know that chocolate chip cookies are so good… but what if instead of chocolate chips we put white chocolate? The end result – delicious cookies!
This white chocolate chip cookie recipe has been tried and perfected until I got the perfect cookie; crispy on the outside, gooey and soft on the inside. These cookies are made slightly different then most cookies. Instead of creaming the butter and sugar, we will be browning the butter first; which gives the cookie a wonderful flavor! Brown butter adds depth, richness and a delicious nutty flavor to the cookie. My favorite thing about these cookies is that the cookie dough does not need to be chilled! It’s ready to go in the oven as soon as you’re done making it. Which does not take long. You won’t be able to resist eating them right away! They’re that good. White chocolate fans – this cookie is for you!
Ingredients needed
- Butter: We will be using unsalted melted butter. It does not need to be room temperature butter. We will be browning the butter which gives the cookie more depth and flavor.
- Sugar: Brown sugar and white sugar will be used. Brown sugar will add chewiness to the cookie. While white sugar will add crispiness.
- All purpose flour: To bring structure to the cookie
- Egg: We will be needing one egg and one egg yolk. The extra egg yolk will add richness and chewiness to the cookie.
- Vanilla extract
- Baking soda: To ensure the cookies are soft.
- Cornstarch: This will help the cookie spread less while baking.
- Salt
- White chocolate: Feel free to use white chocolate chips or white chocolate chunks.
Overview of making the white chocolate cookies
- Brown the butter: In a small sauce pan, add the butter and melt over medium – high heat. Melt until the butter turns dark golden brown and has a nutty smell. Set aside.
- Whisk together dry ingredients. medium bowl, combine flour, baking soda and a pinch of salt. Then set aside.
- Beat brown sugar, granulated sugar and browned butter. Beat on medium speed until combined. About 2-3 minutes. You can use a stand mixer with a paddle attachment or a large bowl with a hand mixer.
- Add the wet ingredients. Add the whole egg and the egg yolk. Then add the vanilla extract. Beat on medium speed until combined.
- Add the rest of the ingredients: First add the flour mixture then mix until just incorporated. Then fold in the white chocolate chips.
- Roll cookie dough into balls and bake. I use a cookie scoop that measure about 1 tbsp. of cookie dough balls. Place onto ungreased baking tray lined with parchment paper. Bake for 9-11 minutes. The edges should be slightly golden brown. Don’t over bake!
- Cool. Cool the cookie on baking sheet for a few minutes. Then transfer to a wire rack and cool completely.
Tips for success
- Do not over bake the cookies! The cookies should still look a little under done when you take them out of the oven. They should be slightly lightly golden brown around the edges. The cookies will also harden as they cool.
- Measure the flour correctly by spooning flour into the measuring cup and leveling off with a spoon.
- You can make the cookies ahead of time. Store cookie dough in the refrigerator 2-3 days. If the cookie dough is hard, let it soften at room temperature for 10 minutes.
- Feel free to add macadamia nuts, even additional dark or milk chocolate chips.
Store cookies in airtight container for up to 5 days.
ENJOY these soft white chocolate cookies warm, with a cold glass of milk.
