Easy Homemade Strawberry Topping (roasted)

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. strawberries
  • 2-4 tbsp. of granulated sugar *
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp. lemon juice (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Hull the strawberries. Cut the strawberries in half. If the strawberries are large cut them into quarters.
  3. Add strawberries on baking sheet. Toss with sugar and vanilla extract. (Add a bit of lemon juice if using.)
  4. Bake for 20-25 minutes. Until strawberries are juicy, tender and caramelized. Cool completely. 

Notes

* I add sugar depending on how ripe the strawberries are. If they are ripe and sweet, I’ll add less sugar. If they aren’t as ripe, I’ll add more. Add sugar to your own preference.
